Attack on Iran. The CSTO Secretariat issued a statement
The document emphasizes that the organization has received with concern information about the onset of large-scale attacks, which have resulted in civilian casualties among others.
“We see serious risks associated with the escalation of the conflict. We share the opinion expressed by the UN Secretary-General,” the statement notes.
The CSTO also highlights the importance of restoring political dialogue between the parties as soon as possible and seeking a peaceful resolution to the conflict within the framework of international law and the UN Charter.
The attack by Israel and the US on Iran began on February 28 and included numerous air and missile strikes on various cities and military sites. In response, Tehran attacked Israeli and American military bases in several countries in the region. In the early hours of the conflict, several high-profile Iranian officials and military personnel were killed. US President Donald Trump announced the start of a military operation called "Lion's Roar."
He also stated that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed.
