Sadyr Japarov and Mikhail Shvydkoy discussed cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan
During the meeting held on February 25, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, discussed with Mikhail Shvydkoy, the special representative of the President of Russia for international cultural cooperation, the prospects for cultural cooperation and humanitarian ties between the two countries. According to the presidential administration, Japarov emphasized the importance of the cultural sphere as a foundation for deepening dialogue between states and peoples.

The President highlighted the successful holding of the Days of Russian Culture in Kyrgyzstan in 2025 and expressed hope that the Kyrgyz House of Science and Culture in Moscow, which will open in the near future, will contribute to strengthening cultural ties.

Shvydkoy noted that the year 2028, which will be celebrated as the centenary of Chinghiz Aitmatov, represents an important milestone for the peoples of both countries. Additionally, it is also the year of the 200th anniversary of Leo Tolstoy. He proposed to create a joint organizational committee, headed by the deputy prime ministers of Russia and Kyrgyzstan, to jointly celebrate these significant dates.

At the end of the meeting, both sides confirmed their interest in further cooperation and expressed confidence that joint efforts in the field of culture and humanitarian dialogue would contribute to the development of bilateral relations.
