She noted that the current condition of this important transport route leaves much to be desired.
“Passengers have to wait in traffic jams for up to 5-6 hours. The Ministry of Transport previously announced that repairs would begin in 2027, but by that time at least patch repairs need to be conducted,” emphasized Seytkazieva.
In addition, the Ministry of Transport shared plans for road construction in 2026, including:
- reconstruction of the road from Manas Airport to the SEZ “Bishkek” and the Ala-Archa reservoir (11 kilometers);
- creation of a bypass road on Profsoyuznaya Street from Kustanayskaya Street to the traffic police post (8.5 kilometers);
- construction of roads to the new Osh market and the Western bus station (8.7 kilometers);
- capital repair of the Osh — Sary-Tash — Irkeshtam road (61 kilometers);
- design and construction of a road to the ski base “Jyrgalan” (“Ala-Too Resort”);
- repair of the Bishkek — Osh road (45 kilometers);
- construction of a new four-lane road around Cholpon-Ata (14.5 kilometers);
- asphalting of the roads Semenovka — Ak-Suu and Grigorievka — Kol — Kashka-Suu (34 kilometers).
The Ministry also mentioned current projects:
- North bypass road of Bishkek;
- Arašan — Chunkurchak road;
- Lebedinovka — HPP-5 route;
- Bishkek — Kant road;
- Naryn — Bayetovo road;
- Bishkek — Kuntuu — Shopokov route;
- Ala-Buka — Jany-Bazar — Kirovka road;
- Balikchi — Bokonbaev — Karakol road.
