In recent days, information about a possible return to the former name of the city of Manas, located in the Jalal-Abad region, has been actively discussed on social media and messaging apps. However, the press secretary of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Askat Alagozov, denied these rumors on his social media page.
He clarified that such messages have no basis. "The question of renaming the city of Manas is not on the agenda and will not be considered. The city will keep its name," noted Alagozov.
Thus, official sources confirm that the rumors about the return of the old name Manas are not true.
