Kyrgyzstan will receive $11.6 million in grants thanks to the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Deputy Minister of Health Temirbek Erkinov announced this information at a meeting of the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to Erkinov, the allocated funds are intended for equipping reference hospitals in Osh, which provide medical assistance to residents of the southern region of the country.

As part of the grant agreement, it is planned to acquire an angiographic complex for vascular and cardiac surgeries, a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine, a mammography machine for breast disease diagnosis, as well as X-ray machines.

The draft agreement between the government of Kyrgyzstan and Japan has been approved by the Committee on Labor, Health, Women’s Affairs, and Social Issues of the Jogorku Kenesh. It is expected that the document will be reviewed at the plenary session of parliament, which will take place this week.
