Nurzhamal Torobekova, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, proposed to introduce a bill that would require all citizens planning to marry to undergo medical examinations. This idea was voiced at a meeting of the parliamentary committee dealing with labor, health, women's affairs, and social policy.

As an example, she referred to the practice in neighboring Uzbekistan: "In this country, young couples are required to undergo tests for HIV, hepatitis, and a number of other diseases before they can register their relationship," she noted.

According to Torobekova, this measure will help prevent the spread of infectious diseases among spouses. She also emphasized the problems related to migration.

“We observe that our young people can get infected in cities like Moscow. Parents, even knowing about their son's illness, do not inform the bride, and he enters into marriage. As a result, the infection is transmitted to the wife, and she also becomes ill,” the deputy emphasized.

It should be noted that currently, the relevant committee is discussing information provided by the Ministry of Health regarding the prevention and epidemiological situation of hepatitis in the country.
