According to the new system for managing law enforcement agencies, the General and Military Prosecutor's Offices will perform functions related solely to oversight of legality. This was announced by Sadyr Japarov during an interview with the IA "Kabar".
According to the President, "The General and Military Prosecutor's Offices oversee the legality of all actions of the structures, while the Ministry of Internal Affairs will remain focused on carrying out its core functions. Investigative powers will still remain with the Ministry of Internal Affairs according to its specialization. We will create a clear list of powers that will be enshrined in legislation," the head of state clarified.
Japarov emphasized that the separation of functions is necessary to ensure justice: "When it comes to economic crimes, if you are truly guilty – you will be punished, and if you have been slandered – you will be able to regain your freedom. The division of powers between two different bodies contributes to making objective and correct decisions."
