During his speech, he emphasized the achievements in agriculture, highlighting key indicators from the past year.
The production volume of agricultural products amounted to 459.7 billion soms, which is 62.9 billion soms more compared to 2024, with a growth rate of 102.2 percent. Additionally, the processing industry produced goods worth 104.7 billion soms, which is 16.2 billion soms more than in 2024, with a growth rate of 130.1 percent.
In terms of exports, over 60 types of agricultural products became available in more than 80 countries, and the population of the country is provided with 6 out of 9 key types of food.
According to Kasymaliev, it will be important in the coming years to strengthen the material base of seed production, breeding livestock, and nurseries. In this direction, there will be an emphasis on the effective use of preferential loans for implemented development projects.
The head of the government also reported that by 2030, it is planned to increase the volume of agricultural product processing to 25 percent, and by 2040 — to 50 percent. Currently, this indicator stands at only 7 percent.
To achieve the set goal, it is necessary to open 385 new processing enterprises, of which 75 should start operating in 2026, as well as to develop agro-clusters and value-added chains.
Kasymaliev emphasized to the forum participants the importance of science and education in the agricultural sector and the economy as a whole. He noted that the government expects a significant contribution to the development of agriculture from the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University and the scientists working in this field.
As part of the forum, a ceremony was also held to award employees of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
