In the USA, requirements for issuing and renewing driver's licenses (CDL) are being tightened. Commentary from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the United States of America, new, stricter rules have been introduced for obtaining and renewing commercial driver's licenses (CDL). This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

According to clarifications provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, the right to obtain or renew a CDL is primarily granted to:

U.S. citizens;
green card holders (permanent legal residents of the U.S.);
foreigners in the country on certain work visas.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan strongly recommends that its citizens check the requirements with the relevant government authorities in advance, monitor the validity of necessary documents, and consider possible changes in federal regulations.
