He noted: "I immediately agreed, as Osh is a city I know very well; my student years were spent here. I was ready to work, as this is a great responsibility. Zhenishbek Toktorbaev, my predecessor, worked tirelessly, and I intend to continue his good initiatives as much as possible. In a conversation with the president, we discussed many issues related to the development of Osh. He emphasized the need to change the attitude towards entrepreneurs and to work honestly, setting corresponding tasks for me."
Akayev also added that new projects and the city's master plan will be developed in collaboration with the city council.
"We plan to interact openly with the population, bloggers, and journalists. The mayor's office will operate transparently and be accessible to everyone," he emphasized.
