At the parliamentary meeting, the draft law "On the Ratification of the Protocol Amending the Marrakech Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organization," adopted on June 17, 2022, at the 12th session of the WTO Ministerial Conference, was discussed. During the discussion, the deputies noted numerous issues related to the fishing sector.

People's Deputy Dastan Bekeshev proposed to reduce the cost of fishing tickets and to add the option of paying for them through electronic wallets. He emphasized the need to particularly consider the interests of sport fishing enthusiasts.

Erkinbek Isenaliev, another deputy, noted that entrepreneurs engaged in fish farming express dissatisfaction regarding the cessation of fish feed imports. "Some claim that there are hidden interests in this matter, and the quality of local feed leaves much to be desired," he said.

Representatives of the Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture (Minvodselprom) reported that previously, VAT was not applied to feed imports. "However, now, in order to support domestic producers, the government has introduced VAT. This raises concerns among entrepreneurs," they added.

Tabyldy Muratbekov, another parliamentarian, advocated for lowering the cost of fishing tickets or extending their validity. He reminded that after the ban on mass fishing in Issyk-Kul, the ecological situation improved. "There are people who love to spend time fishing but consider the ticket price too high. I ask you to consider this proposal," he stated.

Ultimately, the draft law was approved by the deputies in the second reading.
