The Central Election Commission will return deposits to candidates, but there will be no compensation for expenses.
According to the chairman of the CEC, Tynchtyk Shainazarov, the candidates intending to participate in the repeat elections contributed a total of 7 million soms, and 25 candidates were awaiting the vote.
Shainazarov noted that the return of the deposit would help "restore justice and logic" in light of the cancellation of the repeat elections.
The head of the CEC also reminded that the decision to annul the repeat voting was supported by the Administrative Court of Bishkek.
During the discussion, CEC member Kairat Mamatov expressed doubt about whether the commission was too hasty in deciding to transfer mandates to three candidates if any of them decided to appeal the decision in the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic and won the case.
In response, Tynchtyk Shainazarov emphasized that the commission should have a ready decision on the transfer of mandates to the three deputies recognized as winners of the elections held on November 30, 2025, adding that this approach would be fair.
At the same time, the CEC clarified that, in addition to the return of the deposit, no other payments to candidates are provided. Compensation for expenses related to campaigning, payment for the work of campaigners, printing of promotional materials, and other organizational costs will not be made.
