The President explained in detail the situation surrounding the departure of Kamchybek Tashiev
The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, commented on the public reaction to Kamchybek Tashiev's resignation from the post of Chairman of the State Committee for National Security. He addressed concerns about a possible division of the country and shared the measures being taken to strengthen unity in society.
The President immediately noted that he would not allow a division between the north and the south.
“First of all, I will never allow the country to be divided into northerners and southerners. Politicians often use such divisions to achieve their own interests, manipulating ordinary people,” he stated.
According to the head of state, this practice has been observed since the moment of gaining independence.
“When I entered politics in 2005, it was obvious. Half of the government was made up of representatives from the north, and the other half from the south. It was very difficult for me then, and I promised myself: if I ever become president, I will do everything possible to cure this disease of Kyrgyzstan,” he added.
Since 2021, the situation has begun to change thanks to personnel rotation.
“We conducted a complete rotation of district akims, judges, heads of the prosecutor's office, GKNB, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. There is not a single akim from the south in the south — all are from the north, and in the north — all akims are from the south. The courts were also addressed. The results have become obvious — the division has decreased,” said the president.
He also added that the rotation applies to the айыл okmotu.
“When a person becomes the head of the айыл okmotu in their village, often all the advantages go to their relatives. We will gradually eliminate such practices, but it will take time,” he noted.
Education as a means of unity
Sadyr Japarov announced the creation of "Akyilman" schools, where children from different regions study together.
“We opened the ‘Akyilman’ school 2–3 years ago, gathering the most capable children from the north and south for education in Cholpon-Ata. Such schools are now being built across the country, and in a few years there will be 7–8 of them,” he reported.
According to him, graduates of these educational institutions will directly enter public service.
“Last year, a law was signed that is already in effect. The state invests in these children. In 5–6 years, they will become future personnel who will not divide the country,” he added.
Starting in 2026, a rotation of students studying under the budget quota is planned.
“5,000 students from the south will study in the north, and the same number from the north will study in the south. For this, we are building dormitories. People will marry, and mentalities will mix. In 20–30 years, the north-south problem will disappear,” said the president.
Addressing the people
“Do not succumb. Whether a president is from the north or the south does not matter. The main thing is that he works honestly. As Deng Xiaoping said: do not succumb. Whether a northern president or a southern one — it does not matter. The main thing is that he works honestly. As Deng Xiaoping said: it does not matter if it is a black cat or a white cat — the main thing is that it catches mice,” he stated.
On the role of politicians and the situation in the Jogorku Kenesh
Speaking about rumors of a split among deputies, the head of state noted:
“The split is created by politicians using the people as a tool. Politicians come to power, and ordinary people gain no benefit from this. The wounded and the dead are always ordinary people. Have you seen in 30 years that a relative of a politician died?”
On friendship with Kamchybek Tashiev
The president confirmed that their personal relationship remains strong.
“We remain friends. But he will not return to public service. Let him rest and recover his health. Let him cleanse himself of ‘ak sakals and kok sakals’. Perhaps he is hurt now, but in years he will say: ‘Friend, you did the right thing’,” he emphasized.
On rumors of dismissals
Sadyr Japarov denied information about mass dismissals.
“I have not dismissed anyone yet. Those who leave of their own accord — we do not hold them. But all ministries will be checked. If someone has stolen — they will answer,” he noted.
He also reminded officials:
“Do not hire relatives, friends, or fellow countrymen. They are not afraid to steal,” the president added.
On possible destabilizations
Responding to rumors about “75 politicians” and possible scenarios, the president stated:
“There will be no coups. The laws will not allow this, and the situation does not exist for that. The country must be managed with the head, not with force. I work 20 hours a day and control everything,” he concluded.
On crime and corruption
The president noted that organized crime no longer exists in the country.
“All the ‘watchers’ are either in prison or have fled. Kyrgyzstan today is a different Kyrgyzstan,” he said.
He also acknowledged that corruption does not completely disappear anywhere.
“Even in Singapore, the level of corruption is 15–16 percent. We are working to reduce this figure. Crime was eliminated in the shortest possible time, while the fight against corruption has been ongoing for five years,” he added.
On the last meeting with Tashiev
Sadyr Japarov spoke about a recent meeting with Tashiev.
“I told him: rest and take care of your health. He claims that he has not communicated with anyone, which means someone acted behind his back. As the people say — ‘a bear's service’. We will clean everything up and restore order. Thank God, there is enough strength,” concluded the president.
