The President emphasized that one of the key reasons for the resignation was the actions of a group of individuals using Tashiev's name to create discord in society. In particular, he mentioned the "letter from 75 people," which became a trigger for his decision. "I did not intend to comment, but since you asked, I will respond," he noted.
Japarov explained that in 2021, citizens entrusted him with managing the country, and he is obligated to protect the unity of the people and the integrity of the state. "The interests of the state are above any positions and friendships," he stressed.
The escalation of the situation began in the Jogorku Kenesh, where deputies started dividing their colleagues into "sides." Some supported the general, while others supported the president. This division quickly spread to society, where even "aksakals" began gathering signatures for early elections, claiming that this was "agreed upon with the highest leadership."
If it were not for his decisive actions, the rift could have deepened, and society would have split into two camps. "I had facts that some deputies were intimidated in the name of the general," Japarov noted, adding that he made the decision to resign Tashiev to protect stability.
When asked about the "teams" of Japarov and Tashiev, the president replied that there are no divisions in personnel appointments. All appointments undergo strict scrutiny, and he demands professional personnel capable of serving the interests of the state.
In response to rumors that there was an agreement between him and Tashiev about joint governance, Japarov stated: "Kyrgyzstan is a democratic country. The people decide, not a group of individuals." He emphasized that discussions about "terms" do not align with democratic principles.
The president also clarified that his appeal to the Constitutional Court is related to the need to obtain clear and legal answers to the questions that have arisen. "The Constitutional Court is the body that can provide a definitive interpretation," he added.
When asked about the connection between the criticism of deputies and the "letter from 75 people," Japarov replied that investigative bodies are already working on this, and the results will be presented later.
As for the resignation of the chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh, the president did not rule out that he might have been influenced by "mysterious individuals" or realized his mistake.
Speaking about the future of the GKNB, Japarov noted that the service has already fulfilled its mission, but it needs to be reformed in accordance with modern challenges. He also confirmed that all allegations of abuses will be investigated, and those responsible will be held accountable.
In conclusion, the president noted that his friendship with Tashiev has not ended, and the decision regarding his resignation was made solely for the sake of stability in the state. "This friendship should not depend on positions," he added, assuring that the fight against corruption and crime will continue.
