At a meeting of the Bishkek city hall board, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, discussed the results of 2025 and plans for 2026. This information was provided by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Kasymaliev noted that over the past five years, the consolidated budget of the country has increased fivefold, exceeding 1 trillion soms. Bishkek continues to be an important financial hub: of the 304 billion soms received by the State Tax Service, 198 billion 7 million soms (approximately 65 percent) come from the capital. He also emphasized the need to stop unfounded inspections of businesses by law enforcement and fiscal authorities.
The capital's budget has significantly increased: in 2021 it was 10 billion 7 million soms, while in 2024 actual revenues reached 37 billion soms.
During the meeting, the active development of the capital's infrastructure was also noted: roads are being built and repaired, new parks are being opened, the Ala-Archa and Alamedin rivers are being cleaned, the BCHK embankment is being improved, and residential construction is actively underway.
The social sphere is also receiving special attention. Since 2022, 30 new schools have been opened in Bishkek, and about 40 educational institutions have undergone major repairs. Plans for 2026 include the construction of another 32 schools. Additionally, there are 143 home-type kindergartens operating in the capital.
The head of the Cabinet also noted the renewal of public transport: since 2021, 1,493 buses running on gas and electricity have been purchased for the city, and over the past two years, municipal services have received 446 units of special equipment. Additionally, a plant for processing solid household waste has been launched, capable of processing up to 1,000 tons per day and generating electricity.
As a result of the city hall meeting, directives were issued for the further development of the capital.
