The Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Germany discussed projects in hydropower, logistics, and tourism.
On February 11, 2026, a meeting took place in Berlin between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubaev, and Dr. Johann Wadephul, the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
During the negotiations, the ministers expressed their readiness to continue deepening bilateral cooperation based on the principles of mutual respect and equality. The discussions focused on various topics, including political, economic, investment, and cultural interactions.
The parties emphasized the importance of maintaining high-level dialogue through the organization of mutual visits. Kulubaev also spoke about the recent elections to the Jogorku Kenesh, which were held in accordance with national and international standards, ensuring transparency and public trust in the electoral process.
The Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic noted that in recent years, the republic has achieved significant socio-economic progress and called for joint actions to expand cooperation with German companies in areas such as hydropower, agriculture, transport, and tourism infrastructure. Additionally, both sides expressed interest in enhancing cooperation in priority areas such as the "green" economy, e-commerce, new technologies, mobility, and educational initiatives.
During the meeting, international and regional issues were also discussed, as well as the interaction between Kyrgyzstan and Germany within international organizations, including the UN, OSCE, and EU.
Regarding sanctions from the European Union, Kulubaev called for a more balanced and constructive approach. He noted the lack of clear grounds for these measures and emphasized their potentially negative impact on the sustainable development of Central Asia. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic added that the republic adheres to all its international obligations and is ready for an open and mutually beneficial dialogue with European countries.
