The press secretary of the first president of Kazakhstan, Aidos Ukibay, stated that since April 2025, Sara Nazarbayeva has been receiving treatment at the National Hospital, where she was diagnosed with a massive myocardial infarction.

During the examination, doctors identified ischemic heart disease, as well as heart and lung failure, which developed against the backdrop of severe diabetes and chronic kidney failure.
“After stabilizing her condition in January of this year, she was discharged from the hospital. Currently, Sara Alpyisovna is under the care of doctors at home in Almaty,” the press service clarified.
Information about Sara Nazarbayeva's hospitalization emerged on May 5, 2025, when her serious condition became known. Shortly after, rumors about her death began to spread on social media; however, official sources quickly refuted this information, calling it false.
In October 2025, Aidos Ukibay confirmed that the former first lady continues her treatment at the National Hospital since April. She was discharged from the hospital on February 9.
