In the KR, election campaigning has begun for the repeat elections of deputies in the 13th district
Campaigning begins after the registration of all candidates is completed and ends 24 hours before the voting day, according to the constitutional law on elections. Since the elections are being held again, the duration of the electoral process is only 20 days, which is one-third shorter than usual.
Thus, the campaigning period will last from February 9 to February 28, 2026, until 8:00 AM.
Currently, the CEC has registered 25 candidates: 15 men and 10 women. Three of them have withdrawn their candidacies voluntarily.
With the start of the campaigning period, candidates, parties, and their representatives can freely organize events, present their programs, hold meetings and rallies, as well as use mass media and the internet.
Government bodies and local authorities are required to provide premises and venues for campaigning events, including places for meetings with voters, funded from the republican budget.
Some categories of citizens, such as public servants, foreigners, religious figures, observers, and individuals under 18 years old, are not allowed to participate in campaigning or distribute campaign materials. Additionally, the use of foreign media operating in Kyrgyzstan for election campaigning is prohibited.
Funding for campaigning is only possible through the electoral funds of the candidates and parties that nominated them.
It is worth noting that early elections to the Jogorku Kenesh took place on November 30, 2025. The voting results in district No. 13 were declared invalid by the CEC due to identified violations of the legislation. In February, it became known that the criminal case related to the installation of video cameras at polling stations in this district was closed.
