Omurbek Tekebaev explained why his name is mentioned in the "Epstein files"
He recalled how in 2017, while returning from Vienna to Bishkek, he was detained by the authorities during the rule of Almazbek Atambayev. This event led to a deterioration of the political situation in the country: Atambayev's supporters organized mass rallies, and international observers began to view Kyrgyzstan as an unstable region, predicting a possible repetition of events similar to those that occurred in 2010.
Tekebayev explained that his name appeared in international analytical materials in the context of political risk analysis. Later, this data was included in the so-called Epstein files.
He clarified that the mention of his name is not related to his personal involvement, but rather to the fact that he is considered a political factor that is subject to observation within the framework of risk analysis. He also noted that these analytical materials mention various historical figures, including Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Mandela, and others.
According to Tekebayev, these mentions do not imply the involvement of these figures in any crimes, but serve only as examples for analytical institutions working with political models and precedents.
He added that he felt it necessary to make this clarification to prevent the spread of rumors and misunderstandings.
