Zhanibek Abirov, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, found himself at the center of discussions after an unsuccessful interview with a journalist from the UTRK channel, where he failed to correctly interpret the meaning of road signs. His responses quickly spread across social media, causing a wide resonance among users.
In particular, the deputy misinterpreted the sign "Priority of Oncoming Traffic," calling it "two-way traffic," and confused the sign "Main Road" with "Stop." When asked about the sign "No Entry," he replied that "someone has a main road." Additionally, Deputy Talaybek Masabirov, who claims to have been driving since 1983, could not accurately identify the sign "No Parking."
Abirov's name has already appeared in scandalous news. In March 2023, a video surfaced online showing him in a conflict with a security guard at one of the restaurants, where he used physical force, which also drew public attention.
Moreover, residents of the Lenin district of Bishkek, whose interests Abirov represents, have repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with his work. Citizens have approached editorial offices with complaints about the poor condition of roads in their residential areas, emphasizing the lack of activity from the deputy in addressing these issues.
“Does he even exist? We voted for him, but he doesn't even try to defend our interests. Why doesn't he drive through our streets and see how people live?” – local residents expressed their outrage.
