In the residential complex, there are concerns about the high cost of housing and its rental in the country
He emphasized that the cost of housing is rising rapidly, making it unaffordable for most residents.
“Rental prices have reached levels comparable to global ones, which seriously complicates the financial situation of citizens. As of today, only those who work abroad can afford to buy housing. The government must find a solution to this problem and provide assistance to the population regarding housing,” Borbiev stated.
The First Deputy Prime Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev agreed with the issue, noting that the State Investment Corporation (GIK) is actively engaged in housing construction and providing mortgage loans, thus playing a stabilizing role in the real estate market.
“If it weren't for the GIK, housing prices would be even higher. The cost of housing is also influenced by land prices, which are currently limited. A commission is working on this, and ensuring housing for citizens is our priority,” he added.
Deputy Zhyldyz Sadyrbayeva also noted that, on average, housing prices across the country have increased by 27 percent. “We understand that our country depends on imports, but how does the Ministry of Construction plan to support local production of building materials?” she asked.
In response, Minister of Construction Nurdana Oruntaev pointed out the existing problem that a significant portion of building materials comes to Kyrgyzstan from abroad. He reported that previously, the main volume of metal was imported from Russia, but now permission to import metal has also been obtained from China.
“We are taking all necessary measures to reduce prices in the construction sector,” Oruntaev concluded.
