Deputy Minister of Health Ryspek Sydygaliev responded that currently only 50% of the allocated funds from the epidemiological fund had been utilized.
“We intend to use the remaining funds for activities planned for 2026, including assistance from the president. Modern cameras are also being installed at the borders, and the funds are arriving in the necessary volume. Everything will be used,” he added.
This response caused dissatisfaction among the deputies.
“How can you not use half of the allocated funds when the epidemiological situation was critical, and children were left in hospital corridors? Is this normal? Furthermore, you excluded this item from the budget for the current year. Are we no longer going to face epidemics? I request a written response regarding the reasons for excluding this item,” Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva expressed her doubts, emphasizing the unacceptability of not utilizing funds from the epidemiological fund.
Minister of Health Kanybek Dosmambetov agreed that the situation was indeed difficult, especially in terms of providing medications. “Supplies to ‘Kyrgyzpharm’ were happening, and the medications that were supposed to arrive in 2025 were only ordered at the end of last year. All needs will be met in the first quarter of 2026,” he clarified.
