The government has plans to switch the CHP to gas within one to two years.
He noted that the modernization of the HPP has been ongoing for several years.
“The process is not quick. Currently, the HPP is not ready for this transition; however, we are creating the necessary conditions and negotiating with Gazprom. As soon as all issues are resolved, we will switch to gas,” Amangeldiev added.
It is worth recalling that earlier, the mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, stated that the municipality, which owns the HPP, has no plans to switch to gas, as this would lead to a sharp increase in heating tariffs.
