In Kyrgyzstan, six correctional facilities are being closed: a decision on liquidation has been approved

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic has approved a decision to liquidate six correctional institutions that are subordinate to the State Service for Execution of Sentences (GSIN). An official announcement regarding this has been published for review.

According to the resolution, the following institutions will be closed:


To carry out the closure of the institutions, a liquidation commission has been established, which is tasked with inventorying property, settling all financial obligations, including debts to the Social Fund, and preparing a liquidation balance.

GSIN has also been instructed to address employment issues for staff, make necessary payments, and transfer property and material assets in accordance with legal norms.

Funding for the liquidation expenses will be provided from the budgetary funds allocated to GSIN.

This resolution will come into effect seven days after its publication.
