Deputy Dastan Bekeshev expressed his concern regarding the Ministry of Defense's intentions to increase the fees for alternative service by one and a half times. He made the corresponding statement on his Telegram channel.

In his opinion, such a decision will be extremely disadvantageous for low-income citizens. "The increase in fees will significantly impact their budgets," noted the parliamentarian.

It was previously reported that for alternative service, due to family circumstances, a payment of 18,000 soms is required, and for citizens with disabilities — 25,000 soms. However, the new draft law proposes to increase these amounts to 25,000 and 50,000 soms, respectively. It is also planned to raise the payment from 25,000 to 50,000 soms for those registered in religious organizations that do not allow the use of weapons and military service.

As clarified by the Ministry of Defense, the current rates were established back in 2017, and the proposed changes should take into account the current economic realities and the level of inflation.
