Every third Kyrgyzstani will be required to engage in sports
According to data, only 15% of the country's population regularly engages in physical activity.
An ambitious program aimed at the development of physical culture and sports in the Kyrgyz Republic has been developed for the period until 2030. This document is currently undergoing public discussion.
The program includes key aspects such as mass and professional sports, infrastructure development, training of personnel, digitalization, and support for national sports. The main task is to create an accessible and modern system that will contribute to the health of citizens and enhance the competitiveness of Kyrgyz athletes on the international stage.
To date, only 15% of citizens systematically engage in sports, but the government plans to increase this figure to 30%. This involves expanding access to sports sections, school and student leagues, as well as events for adults and the elderly. Over the course of the year, more than 3,000 mass sports events are planned to be held in the country to promote physical activity, according to the program developers.
An important part of the strategy is the development of sports infrastructure. The construction of accessible sports facilities in rural areas, the creation of sports zones and tracks, as well as modular complexes is planned. An inventory will be conducted to assess the condition of sports facilities across the country to address their shortages.
There are also plans to train specialists, including sports doctors, psychologists, nutritionists, coaches, and referees, as well as to modernize the educational system and state orders in this area.
Centers for national sports, such as kok-boru and Kyrgyz kyz kuumai games, will be opened in each district.
Digitalization will become an integral part of the program, with the creation of a national digital platform for e-sport.
All state and municipal institutions involved in the implementation of the plan will report biannually on the progress in achieving the set tasks.
