Sadyr Japarov discussed global security and climate with representatives of countries at the UN.
During the meeting, important aspects of the international agenda were discussed, including the tense geopolitical situation, threats to international and regional security, as well as issues related to the fight against terrorism and extremism, climate change, nuclear non-proliferation, and sustainable development goals.
The head of state confirmed Kyrgyzstan's unwavering commitment to the principles of the UN Charter and norms of international law, emphasizing the importance of peaceful conflict resolution. He also noted that in the context of growing global instability, the significance of dialogue, solidarity, and constructive interaction between countries increases significantly.
The president expressed Kyrgyzstan's readiness to continue participating in strengthening international security, supporting initiatives aimed at sustainable development, and promoting the interests of developing countries and small states. He noted that the unification of efforts by the international community is key to achieving long-term stability and peace.
Representatives of foreign states at the UN also noted Kyrgyzstan's achievements in socio-economic development and its active role in international cooperation, peaceful resolution of regional conflicts, as well as in developing regional dialogue and initiatives in the field of sustainable development.
Particular attention was paid to Kyrgyzstan's role as a defender of the interests of small and developing countries, as well as its commitment to creating a more inclusive and balanced international order.
The parties expressed their readiness to cooperate on issues related to the protection of mountainous regions, the development of multilateral and bilateral trade relations, attracting investments, and exchanges in the field of culture and education.
The meeting was attended by the permanent representatives of countries to the UN, including Joan Forner Rovira from Andorra, Abakar Mukhtar from Chad, Gislain Ondias Okumu from Gabon, José Alberto Brisa Gutiérrez from Guatemala, Sambu Sané from Guinea-Bissau, Caroline Rodrigues-Birkett from Guyana, Pendapala Andreas Naandu from Namibia, Mutrais Agatha Williams from Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Cecilia Adut Manyok Adeng from South Sudan.
