The New Car Season for Deputies: What They Are Driving to the Jogorku Kenesh Today
All new cars are black, fresh, and smell of the factory. Most parliamentarians refrained from commenting on the update of the vehicle fleet.
According to available information, deputies were provided with official cars without drivers. Now parliamentarians will have to hire drivers themselves. In addition, all expenses for the maintenance of the cars, including the programming of onboard computers, will be paid from their budget. Documents regarding material responsibility for the provided transport have also been signed.
It should be noted that the day before it became known that all 87 deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh received new official cars. Although the brands of the cars were not officially announced, it was previously reported that mid-luxury class models were chosen as vehicles, with prices ranging from $30,000 to $50,000.
In April 2025, there was a discussion about the possibility of acquiring Li Xiang L7 and L9 crossovers, which were planned to be distributed among the leaders of factions and committees. The presidential administration then confirmed that the purchase of Li Xiang L7 and L8 would take place, but did not disclose the amount of expenses.
Today it is clear that the vehicle fleet has been completely updated, and deputies are already actively using the new cars.
Against the backdrop of constant criticism of the cost of government procurement and public demands for transparency, the expenses for new cars for parliamentarians, as seen from reactions on social media, will again become a topic of discussion. However, there is currently no official information about the prices for the supply.
The meeting started on time, but questions regarding the vehicle fleet seem to be just beginning.
