“It is important for them to have as many clients as possible”

In an interview with the Kabar agency, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, expressed his opinion regarding private driving schools and the ongoing reforms in the field of driver training.

He noted that at his direction, the management is actively working to bring order to this area.

“The reform process has already begun. Since the Soviet system existed, similar changes in driver training and vehicle registration have not occurred. The system was mired in corruption. Almost all leaders were involved in corrupt schemes,” he said.

Japarov also emphasized that the country is now producing state license plates, driver's licenses, and technical passports.

“Previously, all of this was purchased abroad. Many doubted our ability to handle this task, but we proved otherwise. Now we have a fully digitized database. The next step is driving schools. Unfortunately, most of them do not provide quality training. They are interested in profit and strive to attract as many clients as possible. In state educational institutions, this situation is absent, as they have modern equipment, qualified teachers, and the necessary resources,” the president added.
