At the meeting of the ЖК, Deputy Umbetaly Kydyraliev raised an important issue regarding the lack of drinking water in the new buildings that have been annexed to Bishkek.
He noted that as a result of the administrative reform, residential areas "Muras-Ordo," "Salkyn," and the village of Ozyornoye, which are home to about 15,000 people, were added to the capital. In addition, the residential area "Ak-Bosogo," with a population of approximately 20,000, was incorporated into the city. "Providing residents with clean water is one of the fundamental needs. According to available data, 90% of Bishkek residents have access to drinking water; however, a number of new buildings remain without this essential resource. Without water, people may face serious problems, including life-threatening risks," Kydyraliev added.

In response to these statements, the director of the State Institution "Development of Drinking Water Supply and Wastewater" Azamat Shadmanov noted that the responsibility for water supply lies with local self-government bodies. He also emphasized that their institution is actively developing and implementing projects aimed at addressing this issue, and there are several plans in place to provide residents with water.
