Umbetaly Kydyraliyev: A number of new buildings connected to Bishkek remain without water
He noted that as a result of the administrative-territorial reform, residential areas "Muras-Ordo," "Salkyn," as well as the village of Ozyornoye, which is home to approximately 15,000 people, and the residential area "Ak-Bosogo" with a population of about 20,000, were added to the city. "Providing citizens with clean drinking water is a fundamental and inalienable right. According to my data, 90 percent of residents in Bishkek have access to water supply, however, a number of new buildings still lack water. Without access to clean water, people can perish within a week," Kydyraliev emphasized.
In response, the director of the State Institution "Development of Drinking Water Supply and Wastewater" Azamat Shadmanov noted that the responsibility for water supply lies with local self-government bodies. He added that his institution is working on various projects and programs aimed at addressing this issue. He also reported on plans and initiatives to provide the population with water.
