Uzbekistan Authorities Express Concern Over Stringent Checks on Migrants in Russia
The Uzbek delegation emphasized the need to "prevent any forms of infringement on the rights and human dignity of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan." This applies to both law-abiding migrants and those who may have violated migration legislation during inspections and raids.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan noted that both sides expressed their commitment to a pragmatic and respectful dialogue to regulate migration processes. The participants of the meeting also concluded that regular consultations at the consular level and bilateral meetings are necessary.
In the discussions from the Uzbek side, the general consuls from various regions of Russia participated, while the Russian side was represented by the leadership of the consular department, responsible for migration issues, and representatives of law enforcement agencies.
