Kyrgyzstan is looking for ways to bring top medical professionals back home

The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan has initiated a broad dialogue with medical professionals from the homeland who have achieved success in clinics in the USA, Germany, the UK, Russia, and the Middle East. During an online conference led by Deputy Ministers Bakytbek Kadyraliev and Temirbek Erkinov, discussions were held on how to transform international experience into real reforms within the country.

The discussion addressed not only issues of digitalization and the implementation of modern diagnostic methods such as NGS and bronchoscopy but also the need for radical changes in areas such as oncology, transplantation, and the development of mobile clinics. Foreign experts shared their ideas on simplifying the licensing process and improving the training of doctors to meet international standards.

Particular attention was paid to addressing the staffing shortage. Doctors working abroad expressed their willingness not only to consult but also to actively participate in training local specialists: conducting master classes, performing complex surgeries, and organizing internships in leading international clinics. In response, the Ministry of Health promised to develop systematic platforms for interaction, including lectures within the framework of the Mirrahimov programs and creating conditions for specialists to return home.

In conclusion, Bakytbek Kadyraliev noted that attracting the knowledge and experience of the diaspora is a strategic priority. The state recognizes that the shortage of qualified personnel is one of the main problems and is ready to implement practical measures to ensure that the knowledge and technologies accumulated by our medical professionals abroad benefit patients in Kyrgyzstan. The ministry plans to significantly simplify the participation of foreign professionals in the scientific and clinical life of the country, creating opportunities for knowledge transfer and potential repatriation of specialists.
