At the meeting of the committee on international affairs, defense, security, and migration, the Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services of the Kyrgyz Republic, Samat Djanteliyev, reported that preliminary estimates indicate that at least 73 schools need to be built in Bishkek, each accommodating 1,000 students. This statement was made in the context of discussing the draft Law "On Ratification of the Credit Agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Saudi Development Fund for the project 'Construction of Public Schools' Phase-2," signed on October 9, 2025, in Bishkek.

Djanteliyev responded to deputies' questions about the lack of educational institutions in the capital, noting that due to the administrative-territorial reform, the city's territory is expanding.

“As part of the second phase of the project, funded by Saudi Arabia, we plan to construct new educational institutions both in Bishkek and in the Chui region. Locations for the schools have been selected in cooperation with the Bishkek city administration and other government agencies. The launch of the third phase of the project is also anticipated after 2029, which will allow for the continued construction of educational institutions across the country,” he added.
