The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received an official proposal from U.S. President Donald Trump to join a new international initiative aimed at improving security in the Middle East region. Uzbekistan has been offered to become a co-founder of the "Council of Peace," as reported by Podrobno.uz.

This initiative is based on a Comprehensive Plan for resolving the conflict in Gaza, which was presented in September 2025. It has already gained international recognition and was formalized by UN Security Council Resolution No. 2803 on November 17, 2025.

The establishment of this council aims to unite countries willing to commit to ensuring long-term stability and peaceful development in the region. This structure will play a key role in monitoring the fulfillment of commitments and mobilizing resources for the reconstruction of affected areas.

In his response letter, Shavkat Mirziyoyev confirmed Uzbekistan's readiness to become a co-founder of this organization. The head of state noted that Tashkent views this initiative as an important step towards ending long-standing conflicts and establishing sustainable peace across the vast territory of the Middle East.
