Kamchybek Tashiev demanded to check all pawnshops: There will be no more lawlessness

Kamchybek Tashiev, who holds the position of Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), has proposed to conduct a comprehensive review of all pawnshops in the country. He noted that such inspections should be carried out with the support of the Tax Service and the National Bank.

“It is necessary to check all pawn companies without exception, with the participation of tax officials and the National Bank,” he emphasized.

In addition, he demanded to impose strict limits on interest rates for loans, not exceeding 30 percent.

“If someone borrows at higher interest rates or if someone's property is taken away, it should be returned,” Tashiev added.

In his opinion, pawnshop owners are required to operate within the established norms.

Pawnshop owners: if they can adhere to the 30 percent limit, they may continue to operate. If they cannot, they should close down.

He also emphasized that the state cannot remain indifferent to the problems that citizens suffer from: “People buy cars, property, take out loans—why should we remain inactive when such lawlessness occurs? Our task is to protect the interests of the people.”
According to the chairman of the special services, restoring order in the operations of pawnshops will be one of the main directions of his activities.
