Dmitry Peskov added that to achieve peace in Ukraine, it is necessary to discuss security issues in Europe as a whole, as security guarantees will be linked to this topic.
He also emphasized that Russia is open to dialogue with the United States and is expecting the visit of Special Representative Steve Whitcoff and businessman Jared Kushner, although the exact date has not yet been determined.
According to Peskov, Moscow highly appreciates Washington's efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine and is interested in continuing the negotiation process, despite recent events such as the arrest of Nicolás Maduro.
Earlier, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated that Europe should begin discussions with Russia. She emphasized the need to form a unified position among European leaders and the necessity of negotiations not only with Kyiv but also with Moscow.
Former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also called on Western countries to engage in dialogue with Russia to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
