Former citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic may be allowed to stay in the country indefinitely without visas
According to the draft law, general time restrictions on stay will not apply to this category of citizens, allowing them to enter, exit, and remain in the republic without the need for a visa. However, they will be required to comply with migration legislation and regulations concerning foreign citizens. Specific mechanisms for implementing these norms will be determined by the government.
The justification for the draft law emphasizes that many former citizens of Kyrgyzstan maintain strong family, social, and economic ties to their homeland — they own property, run businesses, and invest in the country's economy. The initiators believe that the existing migration restrictions create unnecessary administrative difficulties for them.
The authors of the proposed changes emphasize that they do not introduce a new migration status and do not abolish existing legislative requirements, but rather establish special conditions for the stay of this group of individuals.
