The Ministry of Health has removed the heads of two cardiology centers
At a meeting held on January 12 under the leadership of Health Minister Kanybek Dosmambetov, the results of the inspection of the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy named after M. Mirrahimov (NCCT) and the Research Institute of Heart Surgery and Organ Transplantation (RIHSOT) were discussed.
According to the Ministry of Health, serious shortcomings were identified in the organization of emergency care for patients with cardiovascular diseases at the NCCT. In particular, there were downtimes of angiographic equipment, delays in performing coronary angiographies, and a lack of round-the-clock echocardiography in intensive care units. Problems with the untimely routing of patients and a lack of interdisciplinary consultations negatively affected the treatment outcomes of patients with acute coronary syndrome, although the technical capabilities for primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) were available.
The minister expressed his concern, stating: "When equipment is idle and processes are not optimized, it is not just a matter of technology; it reflects the attitude towards the work. And this is your responsibility."
As a result of the meeting, the minister instructed to equip the RIHSOT with the necessary equipment as soon as possible, and to ensure round-the-clock echocardiography in intensive care units at the NCCT, strictly adhering to clinical protocols when using angiographic devices. In light of the identified violations, the heads of both institutions decided to voluntarily resign from their positions.
Samidin Shabyraliev and his deputy.
The Ministry of Health noted that young but qualified specialists, including those with experience working abroad, will be proposed for the leadership positions. The ministry will continue its efforts to reduce mortality from cardiovascular diseases and to effectively utilize state resources in cardiology services.
