The Mayor of Osh proposed naming a street after Bayaman Erkinbaev

During one of his recent tours of the city, the Mayor of Osh, Jenishbek Toktorbaev, proposed considering the possibility of naming one of the streets after Bayaman Erkinbaev, who previously served as a deputy in the Jogorku Kenesh. He noted that the process of commemorating the former MP would be carried out in accordance with established norms, and the possibility of creating a monument is also being discussed.

Bayaman Erkinbaev, elected to parliament three times in 1995, 2000, and 2005, left a significant mark on the public life of Kyrgyzstan. He was the founder of the international wrestling federation "Alysh" and headed the charitable foundation "Palvan." His biography also includes events from March 2005, when his supporters and students from sports schools actively participated in protests both in the south of the country and in Bishkek.

Unfortunately, in September 2005, Bayaman Erkinbaev was killed in the capital, which became one of the most high-profile incidents of that time. There were many versions regarding the reasons for his death, including criminal motives and business interests.

It is also important to note that in February 2025, the head of the GKNB, Kamchybek Tashiev, reported the return of a 12.5-hectare land plot in Tajikistan's Proletarsk to Kyrgyzstan. This plot previously belonged to the Kyrgyz organization "Selkhozkhimia," then was transferred to Bayaman Erkinbaev and sold. Legal proceedings allowed the land to be returned to the ownership of Kyrgyzstan.
