The Olympiad is being held at the "Manas Ata" lyceum from February 27 to 28 and is organized by the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic in collaboration with the Talas Regional Methodological Center.
At the solemn opening of the Olympiad, wishes for success to the participants were expressed by Saltanat Beishenova, head of the Talas Regional Methodological Center, and Emil Madylbekov, head of the office of the presidential representative of the Kyrgyz Republic in the region.
120 schoolchildren from various districts are participating in the competition:
- Talas district/city — 37;
- Bakay-Ata district — 23;
- Aitmatov district — 34;
- Manas district — 26 students.
The participants will compete in a variety of subjects.
To ensure oversight of the Olympiad, a supervisory board has been formed, to which the Talas Regional Methodological Center has assigned special responsibilities. The composition of the jury for each subject and the organizational committee has also been approved.
The Olympic disciplines include:
- Kyrgyz language and literature;
- Russian language and literature;
- English language;
- Mathematics;
- Informatics;
- History;
- Geography;
- Biology;
- Chemistry;
- Physics.
The Talas Regional Methodological Center has also developed an internal regulation for conducting the Olympiad and organized accommodation for students arriving from the districts. Since the intellectual competition coincided with the month of Orozо, a survey was conducted among students who are fasting and those who are not, which allowed for the organization of hot meals twice a day.
