On February 22 in Bishkek, a significant event will take place: secondary school No. 29 will be named after the famous Tatar poet and Hero of the Soviet Union Musa Jalil. This information was reported by the Russian House in Bishkek.
A delegation from Tatarstan, headed by Vasily Shaikhraziev, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars, is expected to attend the ceremony.
The organizers emphasize that this event will have a significant impact on the social and cultural life of the capital of Kyrgyzstan, helping to preserve historical memory, strengthen spiritual values, and develop cultural ties between Russia, Tatarstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
Note: Musa Jalil was an outstanding Tatar poet, journalist, and public figure. During the Great Patriotic War, he worked as a war correspondent. In 1942, after being captured, he became a member of an underground anti-fascist organization. For his actions against the Nazis, he was executed on August 25, 1944, in the Plötzensee prison in Berlin.
At the end of his life, Jalil created a cycle of poems that were included in the collection "Moabit Notebook," which became a symbol of courage and resilience. In 1956, he was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, and in 1957, he was awarded the Lenin Prize posthumously.
In 2026, the 120th anniversary of the poet's birth will be celebrated.
