In 2026, passing the OGT will also be required for college applicants
According to information presented at a press conference at the "Kabar" agency, applicants wishing to enroll in vocational education institutions on a contractual and grant basis will be required to pass the Republican Unified Testing (ORT) this year.
Clarifications regarding the new requirement were provided by the Acting Head of the Department of Higher, Secondary Vocational, and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science, Dinara Bektasheva.
She reported that important changes were made to the education law in 2023.
“According to these changes, only graduates of 11th grades must pass the Republican Unified Testing when enrolling in vocational education institutions. This rule does not apply to graduates of 9th grades,” she specified.
It should also be noted that registration for the ORT has already started. It began on February 17 and will last until April 2. The testing is scheduled from May 16 to May 23.
