In the residential area of Krasny Stroitiel after a major renovation, kindergarten No. 67 "Balastan" with 246 places has been opened.
Among those present at the event were Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov, Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev, Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, Vice-Speaker of the Bishkek City Council Zhyldyzbek Abdrayimov, as well as representatives of the local administration and residents of the area.
"Children's institutions must fulfill their primary function — to contribute to the upbringing and development of children. Today we are witnessing the fruits of the work to return this facility to the city. All necessary conditions for safe and quality preschool education have been created here," the mayor noted during his speech.
Event participants were able to familiarize themselves with the updated building and the conditions provided for the kindergarten's pupils.
The kindergarten was built in 1984 and operated until 1991. In the following years, it was privately owned and used for purposes other than intended. In 2019, the building was returned to municipal ownership with the support of the State Committee for National Security, and in 2022, the kindergarten, which accommodated 140 children, was transferred to the mayor's office.
After a major renovation and the implementation of modern solutions, the capacity of the kindergarten was increased to 246 places. The complete reconstruction of the two-story building, with an area of 1488.4 square meters, was completed, and the adjacent territory was landscaped and equipped with six playgrounds for the safe recreation of children.
The project was implemented by the Capital Construction Department of the Bishkek mayor's office as part of a program for the development of preschool education. The contractor was the company OsOO "Rim i Ko."
