More than 18,000 children with disabilities study in regular schools, - Ministry of Education

At a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Labor, Health, Women's Affairs, and Social Issues, Gulshan Abdildaeva, the chief specialist of the Department of School and Extracurricular Education of the Ministry of Education and Science, announced that 327 correctional classes have been opened in 44 schools in Kyrgyzstan.

In these classes, 4,270 children are receiving education as part of the inclusive education program.

Additionally, there are 9 specialized schools in the country where 2,910 children study, as well as 14 boarding schools where 2,300 children learn.

Thus, the total number of children with disabilities studying in regular educational institutions exceeds 18,000.

Deputy Nurchamal Torobekova proposed the introduction of tutoring support, believing that it would assist parents. In response, a representative of the Ministry of Education stated that such a practice is currently absent.
