The Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, accompanied by representatives of the "Ata-Jurt" parliamentary group, made a working trip to Kara-Balta.

According to the information from the parliament's press service, the delegates inspected the building of school No. 5, which was privatized in 2011 and returned to state ownership in 2018.

Built in the 1950s, the building is now in a deplorable state and abandoned. In this regard, local authorities proposed to create a kindergarten on its site, as well as to build a new school next to school No. 7 to address the shortage of educational places.

According to data from the housing and communal services, there is a serious shortage of places in kindergartens in Kara-Balta, with about 1,200 children waiting for admission. In some schools, classes are held in three shifts.

Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu instructed the Ministry of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services to develop projects for the new kindergarten and school.

Next, the delegation visited school No. 7, where the principal reported that currently more than 1,500 students are studying in three shifts. Educators noted that the new educational building would help not only solve the problem of lack of places but also improve the quality of education.

Turgunbek uulu familiarized himself with the project of the new building and strongly urged the ministry to expedite the financing process.

He also added that to eliminate delays in construction and improve its quality, the tendering process would be canceled.

“The relevant agency must change its approach to its work and focus on the rapid construction of social infrastructure facilities. It is necessary to abandon outdated methods and act in accordance with modern requirements, as issues of price and quality balance arise during construction,” noted the speaker of parliament.

He also urged local government leaders to work actively. “In recent years, special attention has been paid to regional development, and Kara-Balta has been allocated 1 billion soms. It is important to effectively use state support to address social and infrastructure issues,” added Turgunbek uulu.
