A meeting took place at the State Agency for Public Service and Local Self-Government between Elchibek Jantayev and the Ambassador of Japan to Kyrgyzstan, Hirano Ryuichi.

During the meeting, cooperation in the field of human resource development was discussed, as well as the results of the JDS scholarship program, which is implemented in partnership with JICA and JICE.

It was reported that the JDS program involves training specialists in master's and doctoral programs for the 20th cohort, for which the Japanese government has allocated a grant of 399 million yen.

From 2006 to 2025, 327 state and municipal employees from Kyrgyzstan have been trained in Japan, as well as 28 specialists under the "Young Leaders" program.

The Ambassador of Japan confirmed his readiness to submit these proposals for consideration by the Japanese side.

Jantayev noted that 2026 will be an important year for bilateral cooperation, as it marks the 20th anniversary of the JDS program and the 25th anniversary of the JICA representation in the Kyrgyz Republic.
