In Bazar-Korgon, the school cafeteria was converted into a classroom due to a lack of classrooms.
The school, built in 1996 using the ashar method, is facing serious problems. According to Abylova, the building is outdated, and the classrooms are unable to accommodate all the students.
“Our school is located in the Tandoo area of the village of Kotkor. This one-story building, constructed by local residents about 30 years ago, resembles a residential house. We educate children up to the 9th grade. Although the school is designed for 115 students, there are 320 students enrolled. Due to the lack of space, the children sit three to a desk,” noted the director.
Kosmira Abylova added that due to the shortage of classrooms, they had to convert the cafeteria, where children usually drink tea during breaks, into a classroom. This situation negatively affects the quality of education. Additionally, due to the aging of the building, cracks have appeared on the walls,” she reported.
In the Bazar-Korgon district of the Jalal-Abad region, there are 67 schools operating. In 2025, 4 new educational institutions were built and put into operation, and this year, the construction of three more schools is ongoing.
