PM2.5 consists of solid particles smaller than 2.5 microns, making them 30 times smaller than a human hair. These particles include a mixture of dust, ash, soot, as well as sulfates and nitrates present in the air. They create the characteristic pollution observed in large cities.
As of March 14, Bishkek ranks third in the world air quality ranking at 11:00.
