

Discussions on issues related to ecology and waste management took place in the Batken region.
According to the Ministry of Nature, the event was attended by Mamyrzhan Rakhimov, the presidential representative in the Batken region, Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision Akyl Toktobaev, as well as the first deputies of district akims and city mayors.
During the meeting, important ecological problems of the region were raised, including waste recycling and the modernization of the solid waste management system. It was discussed that some existing landfills for solid waste do not meet environmental standards, necessitating their phased modernization.
Participants also discussed the need for wastewater treatment and the improvement of ecological infrastructure in populated areas. Special attention was given to areas with a developing tourism sector, where it is necessary to strengthen control over environmental conditions and implement modern solutions for environmental protection.
“Ecology and sustainable development of mountainous regions is a priority in our work. We must jointly improve the waste management system and infrastructure in accordance with modern standards,” emphasized Minister Akyl Toktobaev.
As a result of the meeting, specific instructions were given to the heads of district administrations and city mayors on improving waste management, modernizing ecological infrastructure, and enhancing the level of environmental safety in the region.
